INTRODUCTION

One Platform, Every Restaurant, Their Own Brand

Restaurants have a quiet problem with food delivery. The orders arrive, but the customer never really belongs to them. The relationship, the data and a large slice of the margin sit with the aggregator.

Eatro came to Tenet with a fix. Give every restaurant its own branded ordering app and website, running on one shared platform behind the scenes.

That sounds simple until you count what it actually takes. A customer app across web, iOS, Android and tablet. A dashboard for restaurant owners and their staff. A driver app. A central admin panel for Eatro itself. Then POS systems, delivery partners, payments, loyalty, analytics and full English and Arabic support, all working together from day one.

Our job was to design and build that entire ecosystem, launch it in the UAE, and make sure the architecture could stretch into the UK later without a rebuild.

BACKGROUND

Building one ordering app is a project. Building a platform that hosts hundreds of them is a different discipline.

Every restaurant on Eatro needed its own branding, its own menu, its own pricing, its own hosted storefront on a subdomain like brand.eatro.com. Each also needed its own POS connection and its own delivery settings, branch by branch.

Underneath, all of it had to run on one codebase that Eatro could manage centrally.

Three constraints shaped the work.

Restaurants run on the tools they already have. Kitchens will not switch POS systems for a new ordering app. So the platform had to sync with Foodics, Lightspeed, Revel, Syrve and Tevalis, covering menus, pricing, inventory, order posting and receipts.

Delivery is not one thing. The platform needed dispatch to third-party partners, its own driver app, click and collect, table ordering by QR code, ASAP orders, scheduled orders and pre-orders. Each with different logic.

The UAE is bilingual. English and Arabic had to be designed in from the first wireframe, not translated in afterwards.

Everything else followed from getting these right.

APPROACH

We started by mapping every group who would touch the platform, because each one needed something different from the same system.

Customers ordering food. Restaurant owners running branding, menus, pricing, staff and reports. Restaurant managers handling live orders and daily availability. Kitchen staff working from a display screen. Drivers on the road. And Eatro's own team governing the entire platform.

Only after each journey was mapped did we design the screens that connect them.

How the work ran. Requirement workshops with stakeholders aligned the scope. Market research benchmarked existing food delivery platforms so we knew what users already expect. Architecture planning defined the multi-tenant structure, the scalability model and every integration workflow.

From there we moved into low-fidelity layouts for the customer app, restaurant dashboard and admin panel, then journey mapping across all four order types, then high-fidelity UI on a modern design system. Bilingual layouts were prepared at this stage, and every design went through stakeholder validation before a line of production code was written.

A decision worth calling out. We designed all applications, including the driver app, in one pass. Development of the driver app, Syrve POS, social ordering and table ordering was scheduled for phase two.

That kept the design language consistent across the whole ecosystem while letting Eatro launch the revenue-generating core faster. Delivered across a 20 to 24 week timeline, structured around four milestones from kick-off to hand-off.

SOLUTION

Where the Thinking Landed

The multi-tenant core. A SaaS framework supporting multiple restaurants, each with branded web and mobile apps. User management with role-based access for owners, managers and kitchen staff. Restaurant onboarding covering branding setup, menu upload and POS connection. Menu management for items, categories and prices in real time. A customer ordering system for browsing, customising and checking out. And a live order dashboard tracking preparation and fulfilment status, with filters for all orders, in progress, ready for pickup and out for delivery.

Ordering, every way a customer wants it. ASAP orders, same-day scheduled orders, pre-orders, click and collect with chosen pickup times, and QR table ordering for dine-in guests.

POS integrations. Two-way syncing with Foodics, Lightspeed, Revel, Syrve and Tevalis covering menu and pricing sync, inventory updates, order posting and receipts.

Delivery. Careem and Slider integrated for last mile, using quote and ETA, dispatch creation, status webhooks, cancellation and proof of delivery. Customers see the option, the ETA and live tracking once dispatched. Admins can enable or disable providers per branch and monitor webhook health. We built it with idempotent requests, retries and signed webhook verification so a dropped call never loses an order.

Alongside it, a distance-based delivery fee module with configurable slabs per branch, minimum order rules and free delivery overrides, calculated on a validated address and shown before payment.

The driver app. iOS and Android, with driver onboarding and verification, live order assignment, status updates, navigation and optimised routing, earnings and tipping history, shift availability and direct communication with restaurants and customers. Customers are offered a tip only once an order is marked delivered.

Payments. Paymob integrated as the single provider across web, iOS and Android. Card payments with 3-D Secure, supported wallets, tokenisation for saved cards, refunds, voids, partials, capture and reverse, and webhook-based status. Built PCI-safe with hosted fields, proper error and retry handling, receipts mapped to order IDs and full reconciliation exports.

Engagement and loyalty. A rewards engine for discounts, vouchers and points. Push notifications for order status and promotions. CRM integration with Mailchimp and Twilio SMS.

Analytics. A sales dashboard covering revenue trends and order stats, plus detailed reporting on top-selling items, average order value, sales by fulfilment method, order types and statuses, and platform performance across web, iOS, Android and tablet. All exportable to CSV or Excel. Menu syncing with aggregators including Talabat, Noon Food, Careem and Deliveroo where API access allows.

The admin panel. Eatro's control room. Onboard restaurants, assign subscription plans, manage every account, control aggregator and logistics integrations, run financial reconciliation across restaurants and drivers, view global analytics and route support escalations.

Tested and handed over. Unit, integration and cross-platform testing across web, iOS and Android, plus performance and security testing. Then App Store and Play Store deployment, staged rollout and onboarding support for the first restaurants going live.

The ResultEatro launched with a production-ready SaaS platform, live white-label web and mobile apps, active POS, delivery and CRM integrations, and an admin panel with full visibility.

For restaurants, it means their own branded ordering channel, connected to the POS they already use, with the customer relationship staying where it belongs.

For Eatro, it means a platform that earns from every restaurant it onboards, built on architecture ready for phase two and for the UK market next.
